PLAY, PLAY , PLAY

The day started with a parade march around the living room...

Then we played Dragon, what does that involve? You have to hold Blake's Dragon and chase him as fast as you can around the living room while squeezing the buttons that make it scream, fly and breathe fire. It's a workout and somehow he never gets tired of it.

Then we played chalk, Shawn tried to eat it, Blake showed off his circles and waterfalls and made me draw holiday themed pictures, yes in June, I wonder where he gets it.

Finally I don't know if I had a moment of insanity or what but I told him I'd read as many books as he wanted. We read alot.

Blake and Shawn's First Time going to the Movies!

Regal Cinema's has this Free Family Film Festival apparently since 1991 where they play free movies twice a week all summer. I was thinking that would be the perfect way to see if the kids can sit through a movie being that they are only 8 months and 2.5 years old. With the tickets being free we could just get up and leave whenever they started to melt down. They were playing Alvin and the chipmunks the
Sqeakual (Blake loves that movie) so we went today and they did so good! We got Blake the kids tray of popcorn, fruit snacks and a drink and brought some m&ms for him. He got his little booster seat and he was all set up. He did great except the first couple minutes into the movie he yells out "This isn't Toy Story 3!" he's seen the commercials and thats all he knows about involving a movie theater. Shawn slept through most of it and they both lasted almost till the very end. We are definatley taking them every week and hopefully they'll get used to it to where we can take them to the paid movies maybe even 3D.

Lunch and Toy Story 3 Party

So I went to a moms playdate at Chik-fil-a and they were going to go see Toy Story 3 afterward. I wasn't going to attempt the movie yet since Blake and Shawn have never been. I decided to make some themed cake pops to set the mood (recipe thanks to Disneyfamily.com, Bakerella (cake pop master). They were a hit, the Chik-fil-a empolyees were trying to pay me off with free chiken sandwich coupons so they could have one. Most importantly Blake loved them.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

FOR FATHER'S DAY WE WENT TO MY PARENTS FOR A BEACH DAY WHICH WAS GREAT UNTIL BLACK CLOUDS STARTED TO ROLL IN AROUND 3PM. IT LOOKED LIKE A SCENE FROM TWISTER AND RIGHT AS WE WERE ALL DISCUSSING WHETHER IT WAS ACTUALLY GOING TO RAIN OR NOT THE NEXT THING YOU KNOW HURRICANE WEATHER STARTS; OUR HUGE ISLAND FLOAT IS DOWN AT THE PUBLIC BEACH BLOWING AWAY ANCHOR AND ALL AND THE SUN TENT IS LIFTING OF THE GROUND, EVERYONE SCRAMMBLED TO GET ALL THE KIDS AND BEACH STUFF AND RAN INSIDE .

SO WE ALL WENT IN AND GOT READY FOR DINNER WHICH WAS PRIME RIB, TURKEY, GREEN BEANS, BAKED POTATOES AND I MADE 5 PIES FOR DESSERT, PEACH, CHERRY, APPLE, AND 2 COCONUT CREAM (MY 1ST TIME FOR THE COCONUT AND I THOUGHT THEY WERE AMAZING). FOR GIFTS I GAVE THE DADS AUNTIE ANNE'S RECIPE PRETZELS, SO GOOD. I SHOULD HAVE MADE MYSELF A BATCH BECAUSE THEY ATE THEM RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. BLAKE KEPT HIMSELF BUSY INSIDE BY TAKING PICTURES. IT'S HIS NEW OBSESSION HE GOT THE CAMERA FOR EASTER AND HAS JUST NOW REALLY FIGURED IT OUT. HE SNAPS SHOTS OF EVERYTHING INCLUDING ME BREASTFEEDING, CHANGING SHAWN'S DIAPER, THE DOGS, LAMPS , TV, NOTHINGS OFF LIMITS.

THE LATTICE PIE TOOL IS SO AMAZING, LOOK HOW PRETTY THE CRUST TURNS OUT.

Auntie Anne's Pretzels

I am addicted to them lately and Kevin bought me the kits recently and they are JUST like the real thing. You know you want one, a kit is 10 bucks at the Auntie Anne's.

ZOMBIES!

SO LAST NIGHT I STARTED TO FEEL A TICKLE IN MY THROAT AND KNEW I WAS GETTING SICK, UGH. WE PUT THE KIDS TO BED AND I NOTICED THEY HAD RUNNY NOSES. I TELL KEVIN WHO IMMEDIATLEY STARTS WASHING HIS HANDS SAYING HE'S GOING TO THE STORE TO GET ZICAM. I SAY: YOU CAN'T AVOID IT SO DON'T BOTHER YOUR GOING TO GET INFECTED EVENTUALLY. KEVIN: BUT IF I WASH MY HANDS...ME: YOU HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD AND AN 8 MONTH OLD WHO HUG, KISS, BREATH AND SNEEZE ALL OVER YOU ALL THE TIME, YOUR GOING TO CATCH IT. I TOLD HIM HE'S TRAPPED IN A HOUSE OF ZOMBIES; A FAMILY OF SICK PEOPLE WALKING AROUND ALL OUT OF IT, TIRED AND MOANY. THEN ALL THE SUDDDEN YOU GIVE ONE A PIGGY BACK AND BOOM YOU FEEL THE SPRAY FROM A SNEEZE AND GAME OVER YOUR SICK. SO EVERYTIME THE KIDS WOULD COME OVER WITH A NOSE OOZING OF BOOGERS AND TIRED TO HUG HIM WE WOULD YELL AHH ZOMBIE! (LIKE IN STEP BROTHERS, A CLASSIC) AND YES HE'S SICK!

TrueBlood/ Hasbro Game Night Party!

I got chosen to be the host of a Hasbro Game night for Hasbro's new game Trivial Pursuit Bet you know it, which means they send you free games and snacks!

Realizing that the premiere of True Blood was starting I decided to combine the 2 parties. Whats better than Vampires and Board games?

The entire menu was True Blood Themed from Vampire bitten cupcakes to Tru Blood (Beer)

I dressed Tia and Carmen like they were going to Fangtasia, very S&M looking lol!
