July 4th Redo

So since my parents already bought a ton of food and the kids were looking forward to the 4th we celebrated it today, it wasn't very sunny but we were able to let them play on the beach for a little while, then it rained again and we all ended up hanging out inside. Shawn passed out on the carpet which has never happened he was super tired.

Happy 4th of July!

We were supposed to do our usual beach day and BBQ at my parents house but the weather for the first time ever on fourth of July was rainy and cloudy so we ended up having a chill day at home. I spent the morning baking in case it cleared up, Kevin was helping me and complaining about turning in his man card, whatever aren't the best bakers male? Hello - Cake Boss. I made pie pops for the first time, cherry and apple with little decorative flowers, they were so good. I also made cake pops, flag sugar cookies, flag cake with cream cheese frosting and chocolate firecraker cupcakes with buttercream frosting and a cherry on top. We ordered Pinchers wings and fries for lunch, so good and so bad for you, played with the puppy and watched the movie Moon (Kev's pick, weird movie where the guy doesn't know he's a clone) while the boys napped.

Then at 8pm we headed over to my parents for fireworks and smores. Shawn was past out at 8:30 in the carrier, fireworks didn't even wake him and blake was sleepy too curled up in a lwn chair with his blankie, they are scheduled big time to the 8:00pm bedtime. It was a nice night not too hot and Chris and Bill only almost killed us with fireworks 3 times.

INDRODUCING THE NEW ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY.....

SkippyJon - Otherwise known as: Skippito Friskito, Kitty Boy. We named him after Blake's favorite book series which is about a Siamese cat who's alter ego is a Chihuahua. Which is perfect because he's a Chihuahua who looks like a Kitty. He's from Deluth, GA, our friends Matt and Paige are awesome and asked their friends to pick him up on their way down to FL for vacation. He's just half a pound... we are in LOVE.

Play-Doh all the time

All Blake wants do is play Play-Doh lately. The little pieces get everywhere. Sometimes he mixes the colors too and thats a disaster. But I still continue to let him play it everyday and buy more kits. Its a favorite from my childhood, how could I deny him making spagetti, ice cream and hair you can cut all at the same time. How adorable is his outfit? He's such a little model, he's got a great stylist.

He managed to squeeze in some cuddle time with his Chi's too.

Ice Cream Party and Eclipse

We headed to a ice cream party playdate around 10 am, ice cream in the morning you know Blake was psyched. Then I took my mom to Super Target for some girl chat and a Starbucks
Frapp.

Poor Shawn didn't get any.

This evening I went and saw what everyone's been talking about.....

I went with my friend Paige who hasn't seen any of them, Iv'e seen the others but think the books are way better. I know all my friends who are diehard fans would be mad at me for saying this but first of all I though this movie could have been atleast a half hour shorter. Second what was with all "The Hills" long pause stare off into space moments. Third Edward doesn't do it for me and Taylor is good looking but has the voice of Steve Urkel and gives off the nerd vibe big time. What made the movie interesting was a couple of funny parts like the tent scene and this guy.....

His name is Kellan Lutz AKA Emmet Cullen.
All in all the movie wasn't terrible, and we ate at California Pizza Kitchen (really good) and I got popcorn =). Most of all it was just fun to have a girls night.
